About 3 years ago, it was a beautiful day in November, and I was coaching basketball and golf at a local high school and looping at the same time. I get a call from the head pro at my Country Club, and he was asking if I had availability. I asked him who I would be looping for, and he kept telling me, “I can’t tell you. I can’t tell you.” So I said, “Look, I have no help today for an away basketball game, and I have to drive the bus.” (Yes, they let me drive the bus). So I’m driving to the school and decided to swing by the course to see if maybe I could tell who it was that I would have caddied for. As I’m pulling up, I don’t even have to think twice to figure out that I had turned down caddying for President Obama. All the secret service cars and motorcycles were lined up along Connecticut Avenue. I got a request to loop for the president and said no. I’d like to see one of you caddie boys out there top that one.
